Meals

The Long Beach Unified School District, which has been offering breakfasts and lunches at 34 sites during school closures, will add a supper meal at 27 of those sites starting Monday, May 4. All three meals (breakfast, lunch and supper) will be distributed during the usual meal service hour of 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The schools offering all three meals include Addams, Avalon, Birney, Bixby, Burbank, Chavez, Dooley, Garfield, Gompers, Grant, Harte, Herrera, King, Lafayette, Lincoln, Lindbergh, McKinley, Oropeza, Riley, Roosevelt, Signal Hill, Smith, Twain, Washington, Webster, Whitter and Willard.

Seven other schools will continue to offer breakfast at lunch, but not supper, during the same meal service hour of 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Those schools are Emerson, Gant, Henry, Hughes, MacArthur, Marshall and Rogers.

Parents can continue to pick up meals without children present at any of the 34 serving locations with some form of documentation that shows the names of their children to match the number of meals requested. View a map of 菠菜网lol正规平台 school locations here or at ngskmc-eis.net under ABOUT > Map. Check the Nutrition Services Branch’s Instagram account @lbusdnutrition for more information and daily updates.

COVID-19 Testing

Following Gov. Gavin Newsom’s recent announcement to add more than 80 community testing sites across the state focused on underserved communities, Long Beach will launch a testing site tomorrow at Jordan Plus High School (171 W. Bort St.). Testing will take place at Jordan Plus High School, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays, with parking available onsite. Testing on April 30 and May 1 at Jordan Plus will only be available to front line workers including first responders, critical government personnel, health care professionals and grocery workers (call 888-634-1123 to make an appointment). Starting Monday, May 4, members of the community experiencing symptoms, in addition to essential workers, can begin to utilize the testing site at Jordan Plus. The appointment scheduling platform will become active online May 2 for appointments the following week.

Childcare

The nonprofit Pacific Gateway Workforce Partnership has launched WorkLB, a free electronic platform that helps to connect hourly child care providers with members of the public who suddenly need quality childcare. For more information, call (562) 570-4249.
